Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – News
Skydance Paramount plans to initiate significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 positions in the United States within a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
These job cuts are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose complete information via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates had indicated the firm planned to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
Until December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
