The England manager Expresses Disappointment Over Home Crowd Support Following Comfortable Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel shared his sadness that the England team did not enjoy stronger encouragement from the Wembley fans during their commanding 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

The manager was satisfied to see his squad showcase their strong performance, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages deciding the match. Yet, he was not content with the energy at the iconic venue.

“With limited training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the squad deserved better encouragement today.”

“I maintain this statement. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a bit more support in moments where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was excessive support for Wales. It could have helped us to recharge, but that’s football and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Away from potentially starting a fight with fans, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by leaving out Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. But the move was validated by Rogers delivering another standout performance in the attacking midfield role and netting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel explained. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his spot.”

Bellamy Hopes for Lessons from Defeat

The Wales manager hopes that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Monday, improve after their awful performance in the opening period.

“That’s the reason I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy commented. “I wanted to assess our current level. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? This performance gives me inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after hitting a post and is a concern when England face Latvia in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on Tuesday.
